TetriNET is a networked multiplayer flavor of Tetris. Each player has their own playfield; the last one to top out wins. Clearing lines converts some remaining blocks on the field into special blocks, which can be collected by clearing lines containing them. They can then be used on the player of your choice when the time calls for it. There are many types of special blocks, each with a different effect - some are good and are best used on yourself, and some are bad and best used on others. I love tetrinet. At college, I played it long into the night with computer club friends on numerous occasions. I used to say that I'd sometimes play tetrinet vith viewers after a speedrunning session, but it only ever ended up actually happening once. I want to make it happen again. When I play it, it will usually be on my own server. (The hostname and port will be available by typing !tnet in chat.) Anyone is welcome to join as long as there are open slots on the server. The more, the merrier! You will need a tetrinet client to play. My recommendations are: - Windows systems: Blocktrix (http://www.blocktrix.org/) - Unix-like systems: gtetrinet (http://gtetrinet.sf.net/) Should be available from your package manager. [Debian/Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install gtetrinet] I am working on a modernized fork of gtetrinet. - Mac OS X: Suggestions welcome. A very good friend from the computer club mentioned above wrote iTetrinet (https://github.com/xale/iTetrinet/downloads) many years ago, but I do not know Mac OS X well enough to know whether that should be expected to run (or even compile) on today's Macs. - Android, iOS, other mobile platforms: Suggestions welcome. Good luck and have fun!
